NAKANOSHIMA

Nakanoshima & Yodoyabashi

A slower Osaka, beside the river.

Build a gentle walk around Nakanoshima Park and Osaka City Central Public Hall. The riverside is a good place to slow the pace between busier parts of the city, with architecture to enjoy along the way.

Pause in the park by the river

Nakanoshima Park offers riverside paths and a rose garden. A walk can be worthwhile outside the flowering season too. For an evening visit, check sunset and choose your return station in advance.

ONE POSSIBLE WALK

One way to spend your time.

Cross the river towards the public hall.

  2. Explore the hall and park

Take in the architecture, then continue east along the water.

  3. Finish around Kitahama

Check cafe hours, take a break and continue to your next stop.

An editorial walk suggestion. Times vary with entry queues, meals, breaks and crowds.

BEFORE YOU SET OFF

A few things to know before you go.

Getting there

Yodoyabashi, Kitahama and Naniwabashi are options for the park and public hall. Nakanoshima stretches a long way east to west; choose a station by the actual destination, not simply by its name.

If it rains

Shorten the outdoor walk and consider an indoor cultural visit. Check opening days, exhibitions and visitor access at each venue.

Food and breaks

Leave room for a cafe stop after your walk. If a river-view table or terrace matters to you, check the seating arrangements and weather.

Before heading back

You do not have to retrace your route after an evening walk. Choose the station near your finishing point that best serves your accommodation.
